Examinations and Treatments
A full range of tests and treatments for all your vision needs, with modern equipment and experience.
- Dynamic Retinoscopy of Children & Adults / Visual Stress Study
DYNAMIC RETINOSCOPY with direct comparison assessment of the outgoing circular light beam from the eye which serves:
1.in the initiation of refraction-prescription of adult spectacles, particularly on adaptive disorders
2. in the examination of children even WITHOUT cycloplegia (equivalent to the use of drugs that paralyze the adaptation which, while facilitating the examination with the “machine”, in practice make it difficult for the child and the family themselves for one or two 24 hours, possibly in a foreign city – office pediatric ophthalmologist)
3. in the study of learning behavior and reading success
4. in the diagnosis & treatment of visual stress
5. to the preparedness against the pitfalls of the refractometer, that is, to the wiser balancing prescription - Minimal contact refractive microsurgery (Myopia / Astigmatism)
MEDICAL MICROSURGERY of minimal contact for HYPEROPIA & CATARACT and zero contact for MYOPIA-ASTIGMATISM using the appropriate laser or ultrasound algorithm after a thorough benefit-result study. BASIC & ADVANCED STRABISMOLOGICAL – NEUROPHALTHMOLOGICAL EXAMINATION respecting the OHTS protocols of GLAUCOMA DAMAGE & LEBER OPTIC NEUROPATHY, ODT OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS OPTIC NEUROPATHY, ICT Newcastle control score & using the GOLDMANN kinetic visual field. Through neuro-ophthalmology, the urgency is highlighted & the value of clinical ophthalmological assessment before the use of technology aids is highlighted.
- Neuroophthalmology / Strabismus / Goldmann kinetic perimetry
BASIC & ADVANCED STRABISMOLOGY-NEUROPHTHALMOLOGY EXAMINATION respecting the OHTS protocols of GLAUCOMA DAMAGE & LEBER OPTIC NEUROPATHY, ODT OF MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS OPTIC NEUROPATHY, ICT Newcastle control score & using the GOLDMANN kinetic visual field. Through neuro-ophthalmology, the urgency is highlighted & the value of clinical ophthalmological assessment before the use of technology aids is highlighted.
- Visual development / School Readiness Bulletin
Visual Ability in combination with Mohindra retinoscopy, 3D visual performance, Convergence-divergence stocks, Von Graeffe strains, Pre-reading ability-DEM test, Book shadowing while the child reads texts of controlled difficulty, Other pediatric ophthalmological examination, recommendation for the easiest and best method of study & school progress, indication of career direction & success based on optometric facility & personality factors.
- Superficial ocular inflammation & tears study / Meivography
STUDY OF SUPERFICIAL EYE INFLAMMATION according to the principles of the global protocols TFOS-DEWS 2017 onwards, with respect to the relationship of trust-cost-therapeutic effect & WITHOUT UNNECESSARY EXAMINATIONS-TESTS FOR THE PATIENTS
Vision Diseases and Problems
Learn about the most common eye conditions and how we can treat them effectively.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a condition in which your eyeball no longer has a spherical shape, but an oval one with a direct result in its strain, blurred vision and severe headaches.
This is because in Astigmatism, the refractive power of the eye differs between its meridians.
Myopia
Myopia is a common eye condition in which near objects appear clear, while distant objects appear blurry.
This happens because in Myopia, the eye visually appears larger due to an increased axial length or due to a large refractive power.
Hyperopia
Hyperopia is a common eye condition in which you can see distant objects clearly, but close objects may be blurred.
This is because in hypermetropia, the eye appears visually shorter due to either a short axial length or low refractive power.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia occurs gradually in middle-aged and elderly people, preventing them from seeing close objects clearly.
Presbyopia is essentially a refractive error of the lens of your eye that stops the light from focusing properly on the retina
Surgeon Ophthalmologist Dimitrakopoulos Panos

Ophthalmogist Panos G. Dimitrakopoulos lived his early years in Pyrgos Ilias in Peloponnese where his secondary education had been completed with excemption. He graduated from Athens Medical School in 1998 after having been accepted through successful written national examinations and with a 3year scholarship (Latsis institution). In 2003, after compulsory military and rural medical service, he started his medical specialty in Ophthalmology at the Greek NHS Hospital of Komotini and continued in the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis until 2007 when he worked as clinical associate in Komotini Renal Clinic in order to conduct his research titled as “Intraocular Pressure Changes in Haemodialysis”.
His specialty was completed in NHS “Pammakaristos” Hospital in Athens (12.2008) after successful participation in written and oral examinations at the 1st Athens University Ophthalmology Department. Since then, he had been attached in Athens NHS Departments in Neurophthalmology & Paediatric Ophthalmology, Posterior Segment & Vitreoretinal surgery and Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases of the Eye.
Since 2010 , the entry year of his private practice in Pyrgos, has completed his training through Optometry Extension Program Foundation (2015-2018) and Refractive Surgery (Emmetropia Mediterranean Eye Clinic, Heraclion Crete, 2016) and has been certified from International Council of Ophthalmology in Optics, Refraction and use of Instruments (2018).
He is keen on/tries to catch up with the Anterior Ocular Inflammation , Neuroophthalmology & Strabismus, Refractive surgery and Spot Retinoscopy in children/adult accommodative response/ visual stress. He owns his “Neuroophthalmology-Clinical Optics/ Visual Science & Microsurgery Clinic” in Pyrgos Ilias, also organizes, conducts and presents his research in greek and international medical press and congresses.
